2016 Guild workshop program

The Southwestern Ontario Basketry Guild is working on the 2016 basketry workshop program. The year promises to be filled with new and challenging baskets and techniques. January 16 Open weave: Bring an unfinished basket and work on it here in the studio. Get help or advice from fellow weavers with for the tricky parts. February 20 Nancy Latchford - Coiled Basket - all skill levels Nancy Latchford will teach the techniques of the coiled basket using yarns, threads, embroidery flosses and also washers, shower curtains rings and a variety of other objects. Create a unique basket at this workshop. March 19 Catherine Devine and Lorna Garton- Octogonal Flower Basket - intermediate skill level (two-month workshop) Catherine Devine and Lorna Garton will teach the lovely, round reed Octogonal Flower Basket from Flo Hoppe’s book Contemporary Wicker Basketry .
